Brian Griffin - Business as Usual, Edition Bessard, 2013, Paris

Business-photography is often mundane, boring and lacks any sense of humor. Maybe is has to do with the fact that most of the offices look the same, the protagonists all wear their uniform suits and ties, so the outcome is streamlined and there is not much space for creativity. Brian Griffin's view if so refreshing and totally different for a genre that repeats itself endlessly. What even more caught my attention is his introduction: "After reading 'The Trial' by Franz Kafka I was inspired, I had found my way, my direction". Put some of the absurdness found in the endless offices that K. travels to find out what his case is and convert it to our time. Don't let the "object" act in the usual way in front of the camera, and voila, we have photos both absurd and full of humor! A book that made me laugh out loud, my only critique: it's over too soon, wish there were more of these shots...
