Ljalja Kuznetsova was born in 1946 in the city of Uralsk, graduated from Kazan aviation Institute. In the late 1970s she took up photography. A participant of the legendary photo group "TASMA".
Since the mid-1980s her works have been exhibited in Europe and the United States, including The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington. Her books was published in the U.S., Germany and the UK. "The road" – the first book of Ljalja Kuznetsova, published in Russia. The album fully reflects the work of the author over the past decade.
In the Preface to "the Road" Alexander Lapin has written: "To understand what is pictures of Ljalja Kuznetsova, you should see how she shoots. It is an unforgettable sight. She bends her knees and rests them in the Globe. It's moments of triumph and grandeur, in these moments she is the Creator of all things, she is the Creator of the world, which will then arise in the depths of black, gray and white films".
This book sjows the most complete retrospective of the famous Russian photographer.
