Bertrand Bagnaud - Dilemme de famille, GLC Editions, 2017, France
Softcover.
For a long time, my family is split between La Chapelle sur Erdre and Le Havre. La Chapelle sur Erdre is a big village situated near Nantes, along a beautiful river. It takes advantage of an environment close to the nature and the population increased a lot these last decades.
Le Havre, harbour city, was destroyed by the allies in 1944. The reconstruction was partially realized under the aegis of the architect Auguste Perret, whose work was classified in the UNESCO world heritage. Other famous architects also marked the city.
While Le Havre celebrates the 500 years of its foundation in 2017, its future seems uncertain, because of a population decrease since the 80s.
Today, i’m affected in my turn by this dilemma : where to live, torn between close friends, prospects and very different lifestyles ...
This book is dedicated to my family, especially to my mother and to my father (1942 - 2016).
