Bruno is a cute little dog and yet, he isn’t - he’s a familiar character in the Warholian tradition, famous for being famous. He is a phenomenon. We are eager to criticise him and yet, if we’re honest, we’re also tempted to transform ourselves into the terrible contemporary success story he represents. This photobook is structured like the main character’s mind. We see him turning around himself, dancing around himself and admiring himself in the mirror of the fantasy that is his world, and a smooth old pop song plays its very own part, too, in driving him, and the viewer, along. Reader, beware! This is a seriously silly book, and it will make you smile, grin, or even laugh out loud, while pondering today’s political realities, media use, and yourself.
